Paying homage to its heritage of defying the industry’s standards in performance, Mopar has released the next-generation Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. This is a factory-prepped package designed for drag racing. Unveiled in June 2015, the Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak signifies the first time a supercharged engine option has been offered.

Mopar’s new Dodge Challenger Drag Pak combines the latest in Sportsman racing technology, including various upgrades and improvements from its predecessors while paying tribute to the unique heritage design. The front and rear fascia trim and redesigned full roll cage fabricated to NHRA specifications are some of the design features drivers can expect to see. Inside the cockpit is a reflection of the Dodge Challenger’s with the inclusion of Mopar features, such as a Mopar gauge pack, driver and passenger lightweight racing seats, a safety net, and a fight-point harness. The outside is equipped with 15” lightweight wheels, which feature the unique Mopar logo. Mopar’s Dodge Challenger Drag Pak also features a more user-friendly hood and integrated trailer tie-down loops.

Designed specifically around drag racing, the Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak is for racers who compete in nationally sanctioned drag racing series. Drivers can choose between the supercharged 354-cubic-inch Gen III HEMI® engine or the naturally aspirated 426-cubic-inch Gen III HEMI engine. The 354 HEMI engine pays tribute to the early Gen 1 HEMI engines. Meanwhile, the 426 Race HEMI engine was built off a Mopar aluminum block with pressed-in steel liners and aluminum cylinder heads. Both engines include a custom engine calibration and a race-prepped automatic transmission.

On July 23, the Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak will be open for ordering via authorized dealers. Dale Aldo, Mopar Motorsports Marketing Manager, states, “We are extremely pleased with the results obtained during our testing. In the first runs the new Drag Pak ran consistently in the eights (eight-second range) while improving times at the 60-ft. mark and also performing very well in the quarter mile. Once our customers get the car on the track, we feel it’s going to be a clear winner.” Learn more about custom packages and unique options for your Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, or Ram vehicle, such as the Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, when you visit Redwater Dodge!
